English as a Second Language

Ireland has become an increasingly multi-cultural society. For many non-native English speakers improving your standard of English is not only a desire but a necessity. We recognise that many of you are working, that is why the Kildare Language Institute offers intensive courses in the evenings. Courses are available at all levels from complete beginner to near-native speaker fluency. 

All classes are taught in a relaxed and supportive classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions and participate fully. The crucial benefit of KLI Adult language courses is that we keep student numbers in each class low which ensures greater student interaction and progress!

Registration: Thursday 19th January, 2012, 6.30pm – 8.30pm in St. Mary’s Boys’ National School, Maynooth, or Pay Online

Term 2: 13 weeks – starts week beginning 23rd January, 2012.

Class duration: Option A: 2 hours per week or Option B: 4 hours per week.

Class Size: Average class size: 10 – 12 students per class. Maximum: 15 students per class.

Course Content: All core areas are covered – writing, reading, and listening/aural. However, a significant emphasis is placed on speaking the language. Students will receive superior quality notes as well as exam preparation techniques where necessary.

Ensuring Quality: All our teachers are highly qualified native speakers with years of experience teaching English as a Second Language.

Ensuring Progress: Each student is assessed weekly by way of a 5-minute written exam in order to ensure that he/she is making significant progress on a weekly basis.

Certificate: Students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
