Languages for Primary School Pupils

We have three courses for kids:

• French for Kids
• Spanish for Kids
• ESL for Kids

Giving the gift of a foreign language is invaluable in the modern global world. It is also a great advantage before pupils begin second-level education. Pupils will learn French or Spanish from a qualified and experienced language teacher in a relaxed and fun way. Class sizes are limited to ensure greater interaction and enhanced learning. Classes are divided by the age and level of the pupil.

Registration: Thursday 24th January, 2013, 6.30pm – 8.30pm in St. Mary’s Boys’ National School, Maynooth, or Pay Online

Term 2: 13 weeks – starts week beginning 28th January, 2013.

Class duration: 1 hour per week.

Class Size: Average class size: 10 – 12 students per class. Maximum: 15 students per class.

Course Content: While emphasis is placed on all core areas are covered – writing, reading, listening/aural, a significant emphasis is placed on speaking the language and being able to perfect everyday usage from being able to introduce yourself and your family to asking for directions and ordering food. This is all achieved in a fun and interactive way where pupils are encouraged to ask questions and participate fully.

Ensuring Quality: All our teachers are highly qualified native speakers with years of experience teaching his/her subject area.

Ensuring Progress: Upon commencement of a course, each pupil is given a starter pack in which he/she receives a scrapbook. This scrapbook is used to record in a fun and colourful way what is done in class each week.

Certificate: Students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Starter Pack: Each student receives a starter pack on the first day of class. The pack includes:

• Welcome letter
• General Advice on learning languages & maximizing exam performance
• Colourful Scrap Book to insert work and games on a weekly basis
• KLI Pen
• Folder
